A visit to Van Duesen Gardens in Vancouver, B.C.

Last weekend Paul and I visited Van Duesen Gardens in Vancouver - first came brunch at the lovely Shaughnessy restaurant where we enjoyed a scenic view.  Then a walk around the gardens where I took the following pictures:

Hellebores also known as lenten roses

These are the "sheep in the garden" - looking rather sheepish!
This is the sculpture of the fisherman casting his net.

A Visit to UBC Botanical Garden

Paul and I went into Vancouver today for a visit with Charlie Sale, Andy Hill, and Doug Justice at the UBC Botanical Garden.  While they went for a walkabout, I snapped a few pictures to remind myself of this fabulous garden. . . there is so much to learn here!

Delight the Eye, Calm the Spirit

Our family is in the garden business. We love looking at gardens when we travel. In June, 1995 our company together with Jonathan Craggs, Garden Designer and Total Landscape Care Inc. put together a display for the Van Dusen Garden Show. Enjoy these pictures, taken by Walter Altenmueller for that event!

International Maple Society Meeting, November, 2018

The International Maple Society met in Connecticut and Massachusetts

We were privileged to have two brothers on our tour who were incredibly knowedgeable about Maples: Matt and Tim Nichols of  "Mr Maple."  Here is an interview, for your enjoyment: Matt and Tim Nichols interview with Joe Gardener.

Our first stop was at Broken Arrow Nursery in Connecticut:
